About

My name is Mike Ross and I am an online tutor. I graduated from Arizona State University in December of 2011, earning two Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Physics. With over 6 years experience, I am familiar with tutoring grade school, high school, and college students alike.

In September of 2012, I began tutoring online through Skype and have never looked back. Students now have personalized tutoring wherever they and a computer go, so there is no more meeting in crowded coffee shops or busy school libraries. Also, my students now enjoy digital notes: During tutoring I use Skype’s window sharing feature to do examples and work problems live with students using a pen tablet then email the notes to students for further review.

I have an energetic and encouraging style, which helps alleviate the pain many students suffer during their experience with math and physics. The path of least resistance is always preferred and I like to teach the simplest and easiest methods for solving problems. I also tailor my instruction to each student, discovering where a student struggles and how best to explain things is the key to success. Students quickly learn that each problem we face can be decomposed procedurally, a strong antidote to that cold sweat, test fear. I like to restore student confidence and I’m confident I can.
